I

t’s been a slow revival, but contemporary interactive experiences have finally begun to feel like those of the industry’s renaissance – circa 2000-2010. Case in point is Corn Revolution by Pioneer (Made by Resn), which aims to share all the innovation that’s taking place around the development of corn.

Simplicity, restraint, depth… hard to know where to begin. But let’s start with what matters most – content. While most websites are designed agnostic of content, the best ones focus on it. Instead of relying on traditional media – photos, illustrations, videos – to bring their message to life, Pioneer leverages (what looks to be) Open GL, which makes the experience 100x more engaging.

People who work in interior design do a great job creating atmosphere – the idea that even when a person is doing nothing, the space is doing something. Whether that’s aroma therapy, music, or shifting ambient light, no space should ever be static. This experience is the perfect example of how that concept manifests digitally.

There are so many noteworthy things about Corn Revolution, but rather than just sit here talking about them, I highly encourage you to check it out for yourself.

PS – This is one of the best sites I’ve seen in the last couple years, and it wasn’t even mentioned by FWA, or Awwwards, which goes to show that the best things in this world aren’t always the most recognized.
